Brenden Joins AAMA Staff Ken Brenden has been named the codes and industry affairs manager for the Schaumburg, Ill.-based American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), a new position within the association. He will serve as an important technical liaison between AAMA and affiliated industry organizations-including standards setting associations, building products coalitions, government agencies and green building organizations-as well as state, local and international code groups, according to Rich Walker, AAMA's executive vice president. "Ken has more than 25 years experience in the window industry and has been a valuable AAMA contributor for many years," Walker said. He is well known in the architectural community as an educator and advocate of new design technologies. "Because of his fundamental engineering expertise and familiarity with the AAMA organization, Ken will hit the ground running," Walker added. Most recently, Brenden served as chairperson of the AAMA Board Research Committee, responsible for screening and prioritizing fenestration research projects. In other association news, AAMA's Door Council has designed a newsletter to keep door manufacturers and building code officials up to date with technical issues related to door performance. For details on becoming an active member of the AAMA Door Council or for a copy of the newsletter, contact Angela Dickson of AAMA, at adickson@aamanet.org or visit the AAMA website: www.aamanet.org. | |
