Carter Lumber Donates Supplies for an Extreme Home Makeover Carter Lumber, based in Akron, Ohio, has donated lumber and building materials to a home renovation project for ABC TV's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." The episode, completed in early August 2004, will air later this season. The new home makeover show connects designers, architects, landscapers and contractors with a deserving family in need of major home repairs or renovation. Then, in just seven days, the home is transformed inside and out. The show's team of designers uses the services of local suppliers and contractors, as well as hundreds of laborers, to accomplish a task that under normal circumstances can take four months or more. Because of the condensed time frame, designers and contractors had to be assured that the materials they needed would be on site, on schedule and of high quality so that the job could be done right, on time, the first time, according to a Carter Lumber news release. "When ABC contacted us about this project we were thrilled to be able to participate," said David McCafferty, vice president of marketing for Carter Lumber. "We believe that it is important to be a good corporate citizen, and this show provided us with that opportunity. By donating lumber and building materials we were able to help a very worthy family." |
