Carter Lumber Adds Panel Plant

Contractor service is a priority for Akron, Ohio-based Carter Lumber, which the company proved again by opening a wall panel plant in Salem, Ohio. This is the third Woodcraft Center for Carter Lumber and it will specialize in constructing prefabricated wall panel units.

Designed on state-of-the-art CAD systems and built to blueprint specifications, wall panels are pre-fabricated wall segments that are delivered to jobsites, saving time, money and labor. Carter Woodcraft Salem wall panels are built of highest quality lumber and adhere to IBC codes, according to company information.

The CAD design system provides builders with a color-coded three-dimensional layout, which further speeds assembly and reduces errors on construction sites.

"Builders are looking for ways to reduce man-hours and capital investment. By adding this new panel plant, Carter Lumber has increased our capability to better serve contractors while helping them to increase the profitability of their businesses," said David McCafferty, vice president of marketing.

Carter Lumber's Dale Webber, plant manager, who has more than 30 years of experience in the building components industry, added, "With the addition of the Carter Lumber panel plant, we can handle any project from a garage to a multi-unit complex."

McCafferty continued, "This addition of the Carter Lumber panel plant is another of the many contractor services that Carter Lumber offers to its customers."

Carter Woodcraft Salem provides professionally built wall panels in 17-foot and 20-foot lengths at a maximum 10-foot, 3-inch height. The company also has the capability to provide custom-built sizes.
