Precision Entry Products Helps Cornell University Place 2nd in Solar Decathlon

Precision Entry Products of Sugarcreek, Ohio, and its subsidiaries Sugarcreek Industries and Monarch IG supported Cornell University with products for their solar powered home.

This past October, 18 teams of college and university students competed in the Solar Decathlon on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. They competed to design, build and operate the most attractive, effective and energy-efficient solar-powered house.

Integra windows from Sugarcreek Industries as well as insulating glass units from Monarch IG were used in Cornell University's home. All these products were built using the company's ComforTech TLK warm-edge glazing system. These triple-glazed units feature high-performance low-E on two panes of glass, and both chambers are flooded with Krypton gas.

Precision congratulates Cornell's team for placing 2nd overall, and for placing first in the "Comfort Zone" competition. To learn more about the Solar Decathlon, visit www.eere.energy.gov/solar_decathlon.
