DuPont to Hold Second Annual Day of Caring

DuPont has announced that October 20 will mark the company’s second annual Day of Caring event in communities across the United States. The Wilmington, Del.-based company says the event is made possible through the efforts of its distributors, DuPont™ Corian® certified fabricators and The Storehouse of World Vision, a non-profit network that provides building supplies and other products to communities in need. The event will help The Storehouse of World Vision in its efforts to improve the housing conditions of low-income families.

More than 50 DuPont™ Corian® certified fabricators across the nation volunteered to fabricate vanity and kitchen counter tops during this one-day event. The tops will be integrated with other manufacturers’ components and then donated. The Storehouse of World Vision will then distribute the finished items to low-income families in local communities. DuPont says many of its professionals and distributors have also pledged their time to volunteer at local sites during the event. In total, more than $2 million worth of product at retail value will be donated.

“… we are tremendously excited about this unique opportunity to make a difference in communities across the country,” says Thomas F. Schuler, vice president and general manager for DuPont Surfaces and Building Innovations. “We are very proud of our distributors and fabricators for all of their efforts to help those less fortunate through this great event.”
