Edgenet Names Frederick CEO Tom Frederick, the newly-named president and chief executive officer of Edgenet Inc., says the company is accelerating innovation to allow manufacturers, pro dealers and retailers to sell building products and services more easily and in a more compelling manner than ever before. "Our emphasis as a company is on making the sale of building products and services simple and enticing for the consumer," said Frederick. "We've gained tremendous experience as the industry-standard selling solution for stock and special order building products at the largest DIY retailers. Our latest innovations promise to provide a richer, customer-centric guided selling environment for retailers and pro dealers, as well as streamlined channel management for the manufacturers who support them," Frederick remarked. Frederick anticipates that Edgenet will spend more resources in the next 18 months on research and development than in the company's previous 10 years combined. "This is simply part of our commitment to quality solutions that will revolutionize the sale of building products and services, beginning with the consumer and extending down the demand chain," he said. Some of these innovations include a closed loop selling solution that both enables and facilitates the sale of installation services as part of home product or project purchases. In addition to installed sales, Edgenet is introducing a professional suite with unique functionality designed to help pro dealers and distributors better serve their customers. The pro dealer version of this suite will offer door configuration and blueprint take off-the automated filling of rough openings from a blueprint with windows and doors. Edgenet is also unveiling the first phase of its enterprise channel management solution for manufacturers, called iCat. Built on an open repository of product knowledge, iCat allows easy maintenance of product and catalog data by manufacturer business users. Frederick was named CEO and president of Edgenet earlier this year. He brings more than 20 years of operating, consulting and investing experience in the technology industry. | |
