Freedonia Reports Opportunity in Cross-Over Siding Demands A recent report published by The Freedonia Group Inc., of Cleveland, Ohio, shows U.S. siding demands are expected to remain at 117 million squares through 2010, but are expected to shift towards nonresidential markets as industrial, commercial and office building activity recovers from a cyclical low in 2005. The company reports that vinyl siding will maintain its position as the leading type in use, but fiber cement is expected to gain share in the residential market, while the best growth will be in stucco, exterior insulation finishing systems (EIFS) and metal panels more suitable for office-type buildings. According to the report, fiber cement is expected to post amongst the fastest gains through 2010 and surpass wood and brick in usage. The full report (Siding) is available for $4,400 from the Freedonia Group Inc., by contacting Corinne Gangloff at: 440.684.9600, pr@freedoniagroup.com, or by visiting its website at: www.freedoniagroup.com. | |
