Home Depot Eyes the Big Apple When we think of big-box store locations, typically we don't envision them in downtown, or densely developed locations. The shear size of a typical big box retail facility usually dictates its location, but the Home Depot has announced it will open a store at East River Plaza, which is under construction in Harlem, N.Y. According to the company, the store will be approximately 110,000 square feet and will be on the first floor below a Target. The new store is tentatively scheduled to open in the 4th quarter of 2008. In addition to Harlem, Home Depot representative Tony Wilbert also told SHELTER, "We are scouting for additional sites in Manhattan." | |
