Home Depot Loses its CMO

The Home Depot’s chief marketing officer (CMO) has decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities. On October 17, the company’s chief executive officer, Frank Blake, announced in an internal memo that Roger Adams, CMO, will be replaced by John Ross, vice president of advertising. Ross has been with the company for ten years and will serve as interim lead of its marketing organization. He will report directly to Blake and will be responsible for leading all of the company’s marketing and advertising programs and initiatives.

Adams joined Home Depot in February of 2005, as senior vice president of marketing and became its chief marketing officer in October of 2006. In his memo, Blake says, “During his tenure, Roger oversaw numerous partnerships and programs, including the launch of our NFL partnership and the True Stories campaign. I would like to thank Roger for his service and wish him success in his future endeavors.”
