Revised Care Guide Available From NOFMA

The Wood Flooring Manufacturers Association (NOFMA) has revised and updated its Wood Floor Care Guide. The organization, headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., provides product certification, mill inspection services, marketing support, advocacy and information services and, according to NOFMA, it is the only to write and enforce grading and milling standards for flooring made from all the major domestic hardwood species.

NOFMA developed the revised version with the help of member companies, including glue experts, nail experts, flooring manufacturers, flooring distributors and other industry experts. It covers preventive maintenance, daily cleaning tips and how to repair solid hardwood flooring for both a surface and wax finish. It also describes how to identify the type of finish on a wood floor if necessary and includes a stain removal guide with tips on removing gum, paint, mold and mildew, etc., for both wax and polyurethane finishes.

The printed cost is $10 per copy, but the guide can be downloaded and printed at no cost from the organizations website: www.NOFMA.org/careguide. A copy can be ordered by calling 901/526-5016, or emailing: info@NOFMA.org.
