Silverman Leaving Andersen Subsidiary - Silver Line

Andersen Corp. of Bayport, Minn., has announced that Kenneth Silverman, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of its subsidiary, Silver Line Building Products Corp., is leaving to pursue a new business venture in private equity and real estate development. Silver Line, a vinyl window manufacturer in Toms River, N.J., was acquired by Andersen Corp. earlier this year.

"I joined my family's business 33 years ago with a dream of it becoming the largest window manufacturer in the country," said Silverman. "My decision ensures the next step in the growth of Silver Line, and the best path for continued growth has been taken by becoming part of Andersen Corp. I was able to accomplish my goal," he assured.

President and CEO of Andersen Corp., Jim Humphrey said, "I know this was a difficult decision for Ken because he cares very deeply about the continued success of Silver Line."

Randy Iles, executive vice president of Silver Line, will succeed Silverman as president and CEO. Iles served as corporate vice president and general manager of Kimball International Inc., a manufacturer of furniture and electronic assemblies in Jasper, Ind., and joined Silver Line in July 2006. He also spent 11 years with Pella Corp., a door and window manufacturer headquartered in Pella, Iowa, in several leadership roles including president and chief operating officer of its entry systems division. Prior to that, he worked for Armstrong World Industries, a designer and manufacturer of floors, ceilings and cabinets, based in Lancaster, Pa., for 16 years in a variety of marketing, national sales and general management roles.
