Therma-Tru Searches for America's Ugliest Door … Again Therma-Tru® Doors of Maumee, Ohio, has announced the second annual "Ugliest Door in America Contest" in conjunction with the Carey Brothers, home building and renovation experts who broadcast "On the House," a national home-improvement radio show. This year they're hunting for the ugliest entry or patio doors in America. One of the easiest and most visual home improvements homeowners can make to the exterior of their home is replacing the entry door system, according to a company release. Therma-Tru's Home Valuation Study proves that enhanced entranceways can add up to $24,000 to the perceived value of a home. In addition, decades of wood and aluminum patio doors, which tend to rot, warp, rust and dent over time, have left America's patios looking out-of-date and out-of-sorts. Therma-Tru and the Carey Brothers will make over the winning doors with a state-of-the-art door system and stylish new accessories. The second annual "Ugliest Door in America Contest" opened for entries on November 1, 2005, and entries will be accepted through December 31, 2005. Each contest participant must submit a photo and brief essay declaring why he/she deserves a new entry or patio door system from Therma-Tru. Rules, regulations and contest submission information can be found on www.onthehouse.com. Interested participants can also visit www.thermatru.com for details. | |
