Three building product manufacturers, Simonton Windows®, Style Solutions™ and Hy-Lite® Products, have joined forcers to support the efforts of Homes for Our Troops, a non-profit organization dedicated to building specially-adapted homes for severely disabled veterans. Founded earlier this year, Homes for Our Troops was started by John Gonsalves, a Massachusetts contractor, after he learned that Sgt. Peter Damon had returned from Iraq with an injury that resulted in him losing both arms.

"Sgt. Damon, just like so many other dedicated U.S. servicemen and women, went to Iraq to serve our country … His injuries demand that he have a house with accessibility features. That's where we come in. Homes for Our Troops is constructing the Damon family a new home in Brockton, Mass., that is specially adapted to make his transition and new life easier," Gonsalves said.

Led completely by a volunteer staff, Homes for Our Troops (www.homesforourtroops.com) hopes to raise funds for, and build, several homes for soldiers this year.
