Wheeler's Building Materials Opens New Facility in Georgia

Rome, Ga.-based Wheeler's Building Materials continues its company expansion with the grand opening of a new distribution center in Madison, Ga.

The Madison location, 60 miles east of Atlanta, adds to the company's already strong presence throughout Metro Atlanta and North Georgia, according to company officials. Wheeler's is the area's largest family-owned building materials supplier dedicated to the professional homebuilder and contractor.

Wheeler's has 17 distribution centers and three manufacturing facilities throughout Metro Atlanta and North Georgia, and in Birmingham, Ala., and Charlotte, N.C. With annual sales expected to top $200 million by the end of 2005, Wheeler's plans to continue to expand across the South.

"We're looking at all major markets in the Southeast," chief executive officer Mark Manis said.

The new facility brings Wheeler's to a total of 1 million square feet of warehouse and manufacturing space.
